Fast Breaking News from Local 1782 – July‘09



The members present at the membership meeting held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 voted and carried the following:

• Voted for Lost Time for Union Officers and Members in the amount of 100hrs or less to do regular monthly union business.


The Executive Board presented those members present at the June 3, 2009 membership meeting the following recommendations:

• The Executive Board recommends sending 1 EAP Coordinator to LAP (Labor Assistance Professionals) Conference in August, paying lost time, per diem, hotel and registration costs, total amount not to exceed $2500.00.

• The Executive Board recommends sending 2 Officers to the IAM Local Lodge Principal Officers Meeting in New York in August, paying lost time, per diem and hotel costs, total amount not to exceed $1700.00.

After further review and careful consideration, the Executive Board has rescinded the above recommendations as follows:

• The Executive Board has agreed not to recommend sending 1 EAP Coordinator to LAP (Labor Assistance Professionals) Conference in August.

• The Executive Board has agreed not to recommend sending 2 Officers to the IAM Local Lodge Principal Officers Meeting in New York in August.

No further discussion or motions made by the membership.


For the members of District Lodge 142, the District Election for General Chairperson(s) of Continental Flight Flight Attendants and ExpressJet Flight Attendants will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Polling place is Local Lodge 1782, 1511 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Current polling times will be from 7:00am – 6:00pm. These times are currently under review; therefore, please contact Local Lodge 1782 for possible poll time changes.
